A Non-Profit Organization Established in 1977

For 33 years, Youth Communication Chicago has contributed to the futures of hundreds of Chicago teens.  YCC continues to be an outlet for urban youth to let their voices be heard, teaching them journalistic values and keeping them in the know with new media trends.  Many of our students go on to higher education institutions such as Columbia College Chicago, Roosevelt University, Loyola University and others.

Youth Communication Chicago has been able to thrive and continue our mission for your youth because of generous contributions from various businesses and individuals.  Without support, YCC would not be able to exist.  We appreciate any help we receive from the community through volunteering, sponsorships and donations.

By donating to Youth Communication Chicago you are enabling us to enrich the lives of many urban youths through our programming.  Our latest programs include the YCC Journalism Forum series where we have media professionals speak to our students, teaching, mentoring and giving them a perspective of the future of journalism and media.  We’ve had speakers like Allan Rafalson, president of the Chicago Journalists Association, Ron May editor of The May Report and many more to come.

We also have a core team of students producing our newest venture the New Expressions e-Zine, which is sent out via email to thousands of contacts in the CPS school system and in the Chicago-land area.  It is also accessible on our website by clicking on the e-Zine tab.  Along with our new electronic media, we are also striving to keep our New Expressions print newspaper with over 46,000 issues distributed to over 300 sites including schools and youth programs as well as 425+ subscribers, college students, student parents, journalists, educators and corporate executives.

We thank you for your constant support, and we appreciate any contributions you are able to donate to us.
